Press Invitation - Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2017

Dear Sir/Madam,

The German Federal Government cordially invites you, as a member of the media, to join the 3rd Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue - towards a global Energiewende - on 20-21 March 2017 in Berlin.

Last year, more money was invested in renewable energies around the world than in all fossil and nuclear technologies combined. In addition, many countries have significantly improved their energy productivity thanks to substantial energy efficiency improvements. Start-ups are revolutionising our energy system through the rollout and use of digital technologies and smart and interconnected devices. And this is only the beginning of a fundamental shift towards an affordable, secure and environmentally friendly energy system that is based on innovation and is in line with the aims and targets of the Paris Agreement. In order to make use of the full potential of this global energy transition, international cooperation and mutual learning are crucial.

Please register at www.energiewende2017.com/press

The conference will explore ways to transform the global energy system in an effective and cost-efficient manner, while at the same time making it more secure, environmentally friendly and economically viable. High-level policymakers, energy policy experts and leaders of industry, science, academia and civil society from around the world will gather to discuss the latest global policies, share future business models, present cutting-edge study results and explore attractive new investment opportunities. This year's Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue will offer new conference formats in order to provide meaningful insights and encourage lively discussions between the speakers and the audience. These formats will include stage interviews, technology pitches, "market places" for ideas and an investors' forum. In addition, the event will provide plenty of networking opportunities, not least through B2B and B2G talks and an exciting evening reception.
